VELARIS PSYCH

About Us
Velaris Psychological Services was founded in 2022 by Megan Agee, LPA to serve a population of neurodivergent individuals and families who have experienced challenges in understanding themselves, their unique struggles, and getting the support they needed. Individuals with an "atypical" Autistic presentation are the specific niche of Velaris Psych - those who struggle to find their identity and self-understanding.

In less than three years, Velaris Psych has evolved to be a leader in providing PDA affirming services and support in the greater Charlotte area; Velaris has also served families in Pennsylvania and South Carolina via traveling for assessment. Virtual options are available for all of North Carolina.
Megan has completed trainings through PDA North America in Levels 1 & 2 PDA Certification. She is also Level 3 Pathological Demand Avoidance certified by Positive Assessments Support and Training (PAST) in the UK.
Megan is a founding member of the PDA Therapy Collaborative and continues to contribute original writing and ideas for publication and training materials for other mental health professionals.
Services
Neuroaffirming Assessments
It's so common that I hear a parent say, "We recently had an evaluation completed, but I know they missed something. They just don't see the kid that I see." Or, "The school says everything is fine, but the afterschool meltdowns are so intense. I know my kid is struggling."

Adults often say, "I always knew I was different than my peers, I just didn't know why."
PDA Parent Support

Parents of PDA'ers frequently come to us having been led astray by many "well-meaning" professionals (it's still unacceptable). Traumatized, even. Everything is on fire, and no one understands. We can help. We offer parent support and a no-cost PDA Parent Support Group. Let us know about your needs.
Therapy Services
We provide affirming therapeutic services to help indiviudals better understand themselves and their needs. We help shift the paradigm about what it means to be a differently wired person in a world that wasn't made for you.
